My Favorite Soccer Players

Lionel Messi is a Striker who plays for Argentina internationally and Barcelona as his club team. In the last World Cup, Messi won the golden ball; which means that he was the player of the tournament. I like Messi because he scores so much.

James Rodriguez is a Forward or Midfielder who plays for Colombia internationally and Real Madrid as his club team. James was awarded the "goal of the tournament" as he traps it with his chest and rockets it into the net. James is a great player with awesome ball handles. He can dribble around anybody.

Why Soccer is Good Exercise

I have played soccer on a team for 7 years with my dad as coach and my brother on the team as well. I love playing soccer and believe it is a great way to exercise. You run almost the whole game and you have to stay alert in case you might get the ball passed to you.

There are also some exercises you can do to warm up before a game. One of them is the exercise shown in the image above. You set up cones spaced out a little and you simply dribble the ball in and out of the cones. Another exercise you can do that my team does a lot is where you have a coach roll a ball on one side of the field to you on the other side of the field. The objective as a player is too kick the rolling ball into the net with one hit of the ball. One last exercise you can do is get your team in a kinda small circle. You are supposed to kick the ball to random people on the team and keep it in the circle. Just a simple passing drill that will work wonders.

My Thoughts on the World Cup 2014

I watched most games in the World Cup 2014, but not all. I watched with my dad, brother, and friends. The thing I liked most about this year World Cup was just seeing my favorite players play. One of my favorite goals was when Netherlands star Robin van Persie scores a "flying" header into the net. My other favorite goal was when Colombia player James Rodriguez catches the ball with his chest, it falls down towards his feet, and he blows it into the net before it even hits the ground!

There where two things that I didn't like about the World Cup. The first was that Brazil or Argentina didn't win. I had always liked Argentina and it would've been cool to see Brail win the World cup at home. They both made it to the semi-finals but Germany was too much for them. The other thing I didn't like about the World Cup this year was the referees. I thought some of them where good but mostly they messed up on most of their calls.

This World Cup has been the most memorable World Cup in my life. Mostly cause I wasn't old enough to understand soccer last World Cup but I have still really enjoyed watching my favorite sport.
